HOW DID HE PROPOSE?
We went for a 2km bush walk in the Kangaroo Valley. I was reluctant to go for the walk as I was not dressed appropriately for a bush walk, but once we got to the end of our walk the view was breathtaking and just as I was admiring the beautiful view, I turned around and he was on one knee with the ring. It was a genuine surprise that caught me off guard!
HOW DID THE WEDDING PLANNING START (WHAT WAS THE FIRST THING YOU DID)?
I started planning the next day actually, the first thing I did was email different venues we both loved.
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE BLANCHE BRIDAL FOR YOUR GOWN?
I was going bridal dress shopping in Leichhardt. I’d been to many different boutiques in the area before walking pass Blanche bridal and noticed an amazing gown in the window that immediately caught my eye. Once we walked in Helen was available and allowed me to try on everything I loved and that’s how I found my dream dress!
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE MOMENT WHEN PURCHASING YOUR GOWN AT BLANCHE BRIDAL?
Being able to try the gown on with the designer present was my favourite part of the experience. It made the whole experience very personal and made me feel as though I was in the best hands!
DID YOU HAVE A THEME OR LOOK IN MIND FOR YOUR WEDDING?
We really wanted a formal wedding, but if I had to describe the look we wanted, I would say we went with Rustic Luxe. I felt that my Valentina gown embodied the Luxe look of our wedding perfectly.
ANY FUNNY STORIES ABOUT THE WEDDING DAY YOU’D LIKE TO SHARE?
Our wedding was on a hot summer day in January and our venue had no air conditioning. Instead, we had to use a fan but unfortunately this was not great for our 4 layer cake that started to melt and ended up looking like the leaning Tower of Pisa!
WAS YOUR WEDDING EXPERIENCE EVERYTHING YOU DREAMED OF? WHAT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU ENVISIONED FOR YOUR SPECIAL DAY?
It was more than I dreamed it would be. The most important part for both me and my husband was to bring both our families together and have a good time.
I would love to do it all again and change nothing, I’d also love to wear my dress again!
