Chloe + Nam

How did you and Nam meet and How did he propose?

Nam and I met at a club. I didn't think much of it at the time and thought he was just another nice guy but here we are today! We went to Vietnam in March 2019. It was our first time visiting and we planned a pretty busy itinerary. Halfway through the trip we were staying at Da Nang and he proposed at a beach side dinner, right after the entree. I cried many years of joy and lost my appetite for the rest of the meal. The place is now very special to us and we can't wait until we can go back to visit again.

How did the wedding planning start?

To be completely honest, very slowly (which in hindsight worked in our favour!). We didn't start planning until nearly a year later and originally intended on having a 2021 wedding. As the wedding restrictions were in limbo for a while, I stayed positive throughout 2020. After going to a few friend's weddings, it comforted me that the restrictions didn't make the day any less special (if anything it added to the memories!). We are so fortunate that the restrictions ended up working out in our favour, as we were able to have the wedding we wanted with most of our guests there.

What made you choose Blanche Bridal for your gown?

My dress was one of the first things I started researching for. When I started my search, there were strict covid restrictions in place, so I wanted to narrow down my choices by doing my research online. A while back, I had come across Blanche Bridal's Instagram and had saved down a number of the dresses for future inspiration. Blanche was the first and only boutique I visited. Helen was so helpful in understanding not only what I wanted but kindly offered advice on what suited me and my body. Trying on the Blanche gowns was an experience in itself. All of the gowns were so intricate, delicate and beautiful.

What was your favourite moment when purchasing your gown at Blanche Bridal?

My first fitting and specifically when I looked at myself in the mirror right after slipping the gown on. It really hit me at that moment that I was getting married. Despite having tried on the dress previously, it really is different when the gown is made to measure. On the big day, I was so comfortable in my gown and received so many kind compliments on how it looked on me.

Did you have a theme or look in mind for your wedding?

Not really. The main thing for me was I wanted more of a dark mood for the reception.

Any funny stories about the wedding day you’d like to share?

I wore a head piece on the day (from Blanche Bridal of course!). Before my first dance, I felt like the head piece was a bit loose on my head. I told one of my bridesmaids, who tried to fix it for me. Somehow, she managed to nick something on my head and I started bleeding (and we didn't realise until a few minutes later). It was a bit of a scramble but I had to made the decision to take it off right after my first dance :( lucky I got many photos with it on earlier in the day. We laughed about it so much the next day.

Was your wedding experience everything you dreamt of?

It was everything I dreamt of and more. It really is special to have all the important people in your life, your family and friends, in one place to celebrate you and your partner's love. It rarely happens and to see how happy everyone is for you is something else.
